Introducing a new columnist for Consumer Corner
Today we introduce a new columnist who will write for us occasionally on Consumer Corner: Family practitioner David Lubin of Tampa.
He's been in practice for more than 30 years, now with GMS Florida West Coast Inc., a 20-office group.
He says: "I’m an employee, so I don’t have to worry about the hassles of running a practice, but I am involved in direct patient care in the office, with all the hassles imposed upon organizational medicine by the government, insurance companies, and other entities attempting to interfere with the practice of medicine and care of my patients. And that’s what I like to write about."
Politics, not so much, which is why we're placing his column on Consumer Corner instead of Analysis & Opinion. Lubin's column will be on the left, joining that of our other physician-writer, cardiologist David Mokotoff of St. Petersburg, and our two professional writers: Carolyn Susman, formerly of the Palm Beach Post, and Kumari Kelly, formerly of the Orlando Sentinel.
In his spare time, Dr. Lubin is a talented professional photographer; check out his work at www.dajalu.com. He is also treasurer of the Hillsborough County Medical Association and edits its magazine, The Bulletin.
Welcome, Dr. Lubin. Respond to his columns by writing to me at this e-mail. -- Carol Gentry, Editor
